Lathrop R-II Board of Education Meets
(Posted March 9th, 2009)
The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening by President Jeff Wright and all seven board members were present.
The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Agenda was approved.

The district received a letter of appreciation from the University of Missouri Extension for the use of our facilities for Annie's Project, a workshop for farm women. Several Vo-Tech students were recognized for SkillsUSA district contest:

Academic Showcase: Two members of the Lathrop High School Wrestling Team (Caleb Hartzell and Jared Potter) shared their state wrestling tournament experiences with the board. Jeff Clymore, Lathrop Band Teacher demonstrated the new technology "SmartMusic" with the board with some assistance from 7th grade flutist Riley White. Mr. Fine reported on the Middle School field trip to see "Dialogue in the Dark" and student thank you letters were presented to the board.

Ms. Rhonda VanDyke
Ms. Rhonda VanDyke addressed the board on behalf of the Economic Development Council of Clinton County.
The board approved payment of bills and payroll in the amount of $688,071.68.
The first day of school for 2009-2010 school year will be August 20, 2009.
The April School Board Meeting was changed to April 14, 2009 due to Easter holiday.
The school will continue to utilize Jeff Williams for lawn care.
The school will provide cell phones to some staff members and will use Verizon as provider.
